New blog/new adventures old buildings

So I’ve been toying with the site for a while now. I am finally getting to posting my first blog, and it happens to be about an awesome experience I had whilst visiting family and friends in Illinois. There is this old cool dinner theater place I used to pass on the way to school then work almost every day , and that  I’ve been fascinated by for years, I’ve  always wanted to go explore but never did for some odd reason. Well this trip I said what the hell grabbed a camera and went off. I was there walking around maybe 5 min when the owner appeared. This guy is cool as hell so I told him I’d mention him on the site. His name Elmer, and aside from being really cool and personable, he was incredibly interesting to talk to. This guy made a huge dream of mine come true. I asked if there was any chance I could take a look inside, since they are going to tear the building down soon, and he said yes! So I got to take a tour of this really cool building. Now the pictures here aren’t as arty as I usually do it. But I didn’t want to take up a lot of Elmer’s time, and honestly I was so in awe about being in there that I was just trying to take it all in and snap away. The inside was immaculate all the furniture was still there. I figured it would have been looted which is has a few times but for the most part things are intact and it looks amazing. Anyway Elmer showed me around and I was treated with a complete history of the place which was really interesting to hear, and added to the entire experience.  It was built in the 1800’s, and there used to be a theater building that burned down years ago :(. It had three stages that would rotate and there would be three plays going on at one time. In its heyday people would bus out from Chicago just to go to this place. The grounds used to be immaculately groomed and kept. When it was built they spared no expense. the woodwork and craftsmanship that went into this place is just incredible, and even in its current state it still inspires awe. Elmer I just want to thank you again for making this happen for me.
